about

This is a score for Carl Theodore Dreyer's film The Passion of Joan of Arc. It syncs up the Criterion Collection version, so press play when The Criterion Collection logo appears if you want to experience it with the film. I think the music works better on its own, though.

It was made at the end of a year-long binge on classical music, primarily Shostakovich and Messiaen. Further inspiration came from the Flaming Lips, Eduard Artemyev, Panda Bear, and Kosmische musik. Chamber music, drones, hot and cold electronics, and sacred music are the main ingredients of this album.

It was made a Christmas present for my wife.
